Moderate rise in groundnut prices amid limited trading
New Delhi: During the week of July 11–17, groundnut prices in the markets of major producing states—such as Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh—either remained stable or saw an increase of ₹50–100 per quintal, amidst moderate trading and limited market arrivals.
Uttar Pradesh
Prices rose by ₹500 to reach ₹6,500–7,000 per quintal in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh. Prices increased by ₹75 per quintal in Mauranipur and by ₹100 per quintal in Solapur, Maharashtra. Groundnut prices remained stable in Rajkot, Bikaner, and Jhansi.
Groundnut Kernels
There was limited trading in shelled groundnut kernels, with low interest from oil millers and exporters. While prices improved by ₹200 in Solapur, they declined by ₹100–300 per quintal in Nagpur.
Groundnut Oil
However, groundnut oil (loose) prices firmed up due to active trading. In Gujarat's Rajkot, Gondal, Junagadh, and Jamnagar markets, the price rose by ₹75 to reach ₹1,675 per 10 kg, while the price of a 15-kg tin of groundnut oil in Rajkot surged by ₹115 to reach ₹2,655. Prices for loose groundnut oil also rose by ₹50–90 per 10 kg in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bikaner, Newai/Tonk, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Branded Oil
In Kota, the price of branded groundnut oil rose by ₹50 to reach ₹2,900 per tin (15 liters), while filtered groundnut oil prices in Jaipur and Newai saw an increase ranging from ₹50 to ₹150 per 10 kg.
